Rosemont combines their knowledge of their land with modern winemaking techniques to produce premium handcrafted wines, all of which are 100% estate grown, produced and bottled on their estate. Being involved in every aspect of winemaking, from budbreak to harvest and bottling, allows them to produce wines of the greatest quality that showcase their great Virginia terroir.
Hunting Creek Vineyards were planted in 2002with the winery starting small in 2008. In 2012, they addedMalbec vines to the already established; Merlot, Petit Verdot and Viognier vines. They believe in supporting local growers and their community. All of their wines are made from grapes grown and processed on their property and they plan to continue to develop relationships with local growers that share their philosophy – that a healthy balanced vine creates the best possibility to make exceptional wine!
CrossKey planted their first vines in 2001. Years of hard work, passion, hope, and most importantly perseverance breathed life into our dream; opening the doors to our own vineyard. In May of 2008 they offered the first vintage of 2006, 100% estate grown wine. Aside from being a beautiful Shenandoah Valley gathering place, they strive to be an establishment that gives back to their community. The keys embody their goal of producing exquisite wines, delicious food, fabulous events, but most of all they are a reminder that they strive to provide an excellent experience for every guest.
The folks at DuCard have been growing grapes for the past decade on their property, nestled at the eastern edge of the Shenandoah National Park. Their story is best described as a “hobby gone wild”. Initially selling grapes to a winery neighbor, they expanded production and opened to the public in 2010, with a gorgeous new tasting room and boutique winery at their vineyard site. They continue to do things their own way; in small batches of the highest possible quantity, and with a fantastic, loyal base of customers who appreciate the uniqueness of their operation. Named Virginia’s Greenest Winery, with solar power and even a Tesla electric car charging station, they strive to respect the environment and to support local businesses.
While Thomas Jefferson would never have success making wine from grapes grown at Monticello, the historic landmark mansion that he designedfor friend, Governor James Barbour would produce 8 generations of world class wine. With Gianni Zonin -- heir to a family wine enterprise established in 1821 in the Veneto -- acquiring this plantation in 1976, Barboursville“sets the standard” for a region now populated by almost 300 wineries.
